Water Skiing on the Ohio River

My grandfather, David Dumbacher, took this movie while out boating with some of his friends in the ice business. It looks to have been filmed in the 1920s or 30s. Grandpa owned the Avondale Ice Company in Cincinnati. The boat was owned by his brother Bill (wearing the hat in the movie), and along for the ride were Eddie Schoenling and a man named Cooney who my mother thinks might have been with City Ice. Eddie Schoenling is the man pouring the drink.

Back in those days, people had to have ice delivered because there were no home refrigerators yet. My great grandfather started the business, and they used have horses pull the ice in carts. I asked my mother where they got the ice from if they hadn't invented freezers yet, and she actually said they'd get it off the rivers when it froze!

If anyone in the family has more information, please let me know so I can add it before I burn the final DVD.
