Breathtaking Drive Along Windy Ridge

This is a really high ride along Windy Ridge up on Mt. St. Helens. It's quite dizzying, especially the parts where there are no guardrails. In addition to that, there are areas in the road that have cracks in them due to the instability of the ground. It serves as a further reminder that you are actually riding along the ridge of an active volcano. Even after twenty years, the massive devastation from the volcano is still evident all around. Spirit Lake still looks like it did right after the eruption. However, there are signs of life returning all around the blast zone. |
